31st DECEMBER

It was Final Countdown time on New Year’s Eve. A Coasters contingent of twelve headed over to Dartington to run this glorious 10k. Another of the excellent Winding Paths events, this one seems to have become a Coasters favourite and the mud, puddles and hills didn’t disappoint. The finishing times were these: Adam Buckley 47:02, Andy Macmillan 52:17, Zane Steers 54:50, Nick Little 57:56, Eric Foster 1:01:31, Simon Bunday 1:03:34, Richard Dutton 1:03:58, Paula Little 1:12:42, Katie Mowll 1:12:42, Adrian Diment 1:16:04, Linda Diggines 1:21:44, Melanie Goslin 1:28:01.

Adam planned a tricky (nearly) Half Marathon loop around the coast from Broadsands. The photo is of Brixham Harbour after Stuart had slipped over, but before Nick had! Martyn and Adam successfully kept their footing on the run. The coast path sure was muddy and it was a very challenging run but most enjoyable.

19th DECEMBER

Our Adam (Bicton superstar) organised a social run for the club around Cockington. This festive looking group had great fun on the trails with Adam getting to grips with his Left and Right too!

Simon and Pat fit in well to the Christmas Pirate's Run organised by Phoenix Running along the Thames. Living on the coast in South Devon, the pirate theme came perhaps too naturally to Simon..?

Wow - what do you say about this collage? On the left, we see the aftermath of the Half Marathon with AJ (Adrian Diment) (3:18:26), Melanie Goslin (3:18:27) and Stuart Gloyn as you’ve never seen him before (3:18:27)!

The lower right image shows Hannah-Louise Cole running her first ever Marathon for which we’ve seen her training hard over the past few months, so massive congrats to her for finishing this gruelling event in 6:31:53. Dave McMorrow finished alongside too in his wonderful festive kit!

Hannah and Dave after the run (top right) with Dave’s mum Petula also a Marathon finisher.

Celia Genders came home in 1:28:25 and Simon Bunday running in something like his 1,000th event 😉submitted a great time of 1:10:52.

Just two Coasters ran this weekend, Dave Blake and Simon Bunday took part in the Cockington Christmas Caper on Saturday 4th. The race had a sell out field with over 220 runners completing this tough off road event with 1600 feet of ascent and plenty of mud on this 7.5 mile course. Simon Finished in 1:24:16 and Dave in 1:37:09. All runners received a lovely mug and medal and bag for their hard earned efforts..
